We provide a custom learning experience for new to advanced riders.
All riding styles are welcome, but we have an undeniable passion for eventing!
Rachel's resume spans over 20 years of equestrian experience in multiple riding disciplines including eventing, jumpers, western, gymkhana and rodeo, as well as extensive experience starting and training young horses through natural horsemanship. Rachel prioritizes instilling a culture of confidence and positivity in all aspects of her business, from the barn atmosphere to her style of teaching. Her passion lies in helping her students reach their goals, whether that be learning how to canter or taking a young horse up the levels of eventing. When not teaching, you can find Rachel spending time with her family, tending to her amazing pastures, or competing throughout Area IX with her gelding Baloo.
Brittany started riding when she was 7 years old at a local eventing facility in Joppa, Maryland. She purchased her first horse Pepper at 19. While in college Brittany held several working student positions for Area II eventing professionals, and worked hard to move from a pile of poles on the ground to Modified with Pepper. Brittany is now working on her bronze medal in dressage and is restarting her second off the track thoroughbred -Adonis- with Rachel. Brittany continues to expand her skills on the flat and over fences in order to be an effective resource to Rachel and to her students. She aspires to open her own facility one day and is our acting barn manager and assistant trainer in order to help her achieve this goal.
Abby is an invaluable member of our Sunrise team. She is the acting Assistant Barn Manager and teaches our beginner lesson program here at Sunrise. Abby comes to work every day with a smile on her face and has a positive personality that can turn any ones day around!
Abby has ridden through the novice level of eventing and frequently rides with Carleigh Fedorka in order to continue building her skills.
Unfortunately Abby will be leaving us for an internship with Three Chimneys in Kentucky at the end of 2024. She will always have a home with us at Sunrise :)
